Player Bios: Josh "the Tank"

1) What is your name and what position do you play?
Joshua Tubajon and I play Tight Head Prop

2) What made you want to join the rugby squad?
My dad was a huge rugby star when he went to junior high school at Steveston High and he's always wanted me to join rugby since I was old enough to join. At first I was skeptical, but when my cousin said that he was going to play for the team last year because he wanted to get as many sports in as possible before he had to graduate and no longer be able to play high school sports. I thought that this was true and I joined at the same time he did and I've loved playing it ever since.

3) What do you enjoy most about the team this year?
I think that the team this year is a young and strong team that has the potential to go further than McMath has ever gone before. The main strength of our team is just that, strength, physical power to push through and defeat all who oppose us.

4) Do you prefer the huge hit or the score?
I have never scored a try in a real game but have made plenty of hits and although the feeling you get when you crush a guy and utterly obliterate their run it might be one of my favorite feelings I've ever experienced. Still I think I would prefer the score because I have yet to score in a game and I'm definitely overdue for one.

Player Card (out of 5) the Tank: tackling-3, running strength-5, speed-2, Rugby IQ-5, Overall-4

  1. You got to score a try before the season ends!

  2. I agree, you should try as hard as you can to score a try (Haha, I'm so funny) Also, interesting motivation for the sport. I like that idea, about only having so many years to play. Best of luck scoring a try this season!
